Biographical Information

Thomas Griffin played for the Milwaukee entry in the Northwestern League before appearing with the major league 1884 Milwaukee Brewers of the short-lived 1884 Union Association when they began play on September 27. He was 27 years old (nearly 28) while playing in the Union Association, and as a first baseman had a .918 fielding percentage in 110 chances. As a hitter, he batted .220 on a team which hit .223 and apparently played in a severe pitcher's park.

Sandy Griffin also broke into the big leagues in 1884 but doesn't seem to be a relation.
