Biographical Information[edit]

Tereza Šustrová has played for the Czech women's national team.

She debuted for them in the 2022 European Women's Championship at age 19. Starting at catcher in their opener against Great Britain, she was hit by a Claury Scatliffe pitch her first time up. The next day, she pitched a historic game for the Czechs. The team entered the day 0-5 in their history and faced France, which was 6-0 historically. Squaring off against Ambre Brouard, she easily outpitched her opponent. She went 1-2-3 in the first against Emma Patry, Chiara Enrione-Thorrand and Léna Sellam (K) and did not allow a run in the first three. She lasted five innings, allowing six hits, two walks and eight runs (five earned) while fanning six before Kristýna El Ghannam relieved. She got the first win in Czech women's baseball annals. She helped her own cause with a single off Emilie Gomes and came around to score as well. For the tourney, she hit .286/.545/.286 with 3 HBP, 3 runs and 3 RBI in 4 games, going 4-for-5 in steals. The Czechs finished second behind only France, which beat them in the finale. She fielded .933 and threw out 1 of 13 who tried to steal when she caught. She finished 3rd in HBP (behind Laura Hirai and Petra Kolkusová),t tied for second in steals (one behind Wendy Bladt), tied El Ghannam for 6th in IP, tied Cassandra Vigneau for 4th in K, allowed the most steals (two more than Enrione-Thorrand) and tied for second in runners thrown out (one behind Enrione-Thorrand).
