November 29: Today's featured birthday is that of Joe Price, who turns 68.
- 1919 - Dolf Luque becomes the first Latino player in a World Series, as "The Duke of Havana" works one frame for the Reds in a 3-0 loss, their first of the 1919 World Series.
- 1940 - Jimmy Ripple (pictured) cracks a two-run homer in a 5-3 win by the Reds over Detroit to even the 1940 World Series at one game apiece. It marks the first World Series win by a National League team in 11 games.
- 1947 - Bill Bevens has a no-hitter for 8 2/3 innings in the 1947 World Series but loses the game on a two-run pinch-hit double by Cookie Lavagetto.
- 1951 - Bobby Thomson hits the "Shot Heard 'Round the World" off Ralph Branca to give the Giants the 1951 NL pennant.
- 2004 - The Montréal Expos play their final game, an 8-1 loss to the Mets. Jamey Carroll scores their final run and Endy Chavez is the final Expos batter.
