- 1961 - Jim Gentile hits a grand slam off Pedro Ramos in the 1st and another off Paul Giel in the 2nd, becoming the third player in major league history with grand slams in consecutive innings.
- 1984 - The longest game in American League history ends a day after it started. In the 25th inning, Harold Baines homers against Chuck Porter to finish the contest that was suspended after 17 innings yesterday.
- 1990 - The Louisville Redbirds score 16 times in the 3rd inning against the Nashville Sounds. Bernard Gilkey becomes the only man in American Association history to collect three hits in an inning, singling twice and adding a home run.
- 1999 - Marshall McDougall of Florida State University sets new NCAA records with six home runs and 16 RBI in a 26-2 rout of the University of Maryland.
- 2009 - Joon-hyuk Yang (pictured) becomes the all-time Korea Baseball Organization home run king with his 341st career shot.
