- 1933 - For the first time in major league history, two brothers homer for competing clubs in the same game. Rick Ferrell of the Red Sox goes deep against brother Wes (pictured) in the 2nd, but the Indians hurler homers an inning later.
- 1962 - Stan Musial gets his 3,431rd hit, breaking Honus Wagner's National League record.
- 2004 - Brad Thompson of the Tennessee Smokies reaches 57 consecutive scoreless innings, breaking the 97-year-old minor league record held by Irvin Wilhelm.
- 2005 - Long-time Chunichi Dragons leader Kazuyoshi Tatsunami hits his 450th career double, breaking the Nippon Pro Baseball record formerly held by Yutaka Fukumoto.
- 2008 - Jon Lester throws a no-hitter. Behind the plate is Jason Varitek, who becomes the first player in major league history to catch four official no-hitters.
