Biographical Information[edit]

Brad Thompson was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 16th round of the 2002 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Manny Guerra and made his pro debut the next summer.

Thompson opened the 2004 sesaon with a Southern League record 49 straight scoreless innings for the Tennessee Smokies. The streak may have taken a toll on him as he had lost strength in his shoulder and was shut down for two months.
