November 16: Today's featured birthday is that of Hector Fajardo, who turns 54.
- 1926 - Walter Johnson picks up his 400th win in the majors by beating the Browns, 7-4.
- 1955 - Toothpick Sam Jones throws a no-hitter against the Pirates, ending with three straight strikeouts. It is the first no-hitter by an African-American pitcher in MLB history and the first no-hitter at Wrigley Field in 38 years.
- 1962 - Craig Anderson (pictured) wins both ends of a doubleheader. He will drop the next 19 decisions in his major league career, never winning again.
- 1970 - Ernie Banks homers to left against Pat Jarvis for his 500th career home run.
- 2004 - Alex Cora fouls off 14 consecutive pitches before delivering a two-run homer against Matt Clement in a 4-0 win by the Dodgers.
