• 1976 - There is a rainout in a game at a domed stadium as floods prevent people from getting to the Astrodome.
• 1983 - The Minnesota Twins take Tim Belcher with the first pick of the 1983 amateur draft but he will not sign, instead joining the USA national team.
• 1992 - Eddie Murray drives in his 1,510th run in the big leagues, breaking Mickey Mantle's record for RBIs by a switch-hitter.
