- 1968 - Don Drysdale (pictured) throws his sixth straight shutout, breaking Doc White's major league record. He also breaks Carl Hubbell's National League record for consecutive scoreless innings pitched (54).
- 1986 - Pirates prospect Barry Bonds goes 4 for 5 and hits his first major league home run, taking Craig McMurtry deep.
- 2000 - Esteban Yan becomes the first American League pitcher to homer in his first major league at-bat since Don Rose in 1972, a year before the DH was established.
- 2009 - Randy Johnson becomes the 24th member of the 300 win club.
