- 1938 - Jimmie Foxx draws six walks in a game to tie Walt Wilmot's major league record. He helps the 1938 beat the Browns, 12-8.
- 1940 - A group of Indians players goes to owner Alva Bradley to call for the firing of manager Ossie Vitt. The team will get the nickname "Vitt's Crybabies" over the incident.
- 1989 - Sports Illustrated writer Rick Wolff finishes a three-game run with the South Bend White Sox. The 37-year-old infielder goes 4 for 7 during his stint.
- 1991 - Otis Nixon (pictured) steals six bases in a game, the first major league player to do since Eddie Collins 79 years earlier.
- 2006 - Daisuke Matsuzaka wins his 100th game for the Seibu Lions. It is his 191st game in NPB, making him the fastest pitcher to 100 victories since the introduction of the player draft.
