- 1986 - Willie McCovey is elected to the Hall of Fame, the 16th player to make it on the first ballot.
- 1991 - The largest Hall of Fame class elected by the BBWAA in seven years is announced when Ferguson Jenkins, Rod Carew (pictured) and Gaylord Perry gain entry.
- 1995 - Mike Schmidt is voted into the Hall of Fame.
- 2002 - Ozzie Smith, winner of 13 Gold Gloves, is elected as the newest member of the Hall of Fame.
- 2003 - Eddie Murray and Gary Carter are voted into the Hall of Fame.
