- 1983 - The Indians pull off a steal, getting Brook Jacoby and Brett Butler (both as players to be named later) in a deal for Len Barker.
- 1990 - Ryne Sandberg (pictured) hits his 30th home run, becoming the first second baseman to reach the mark in consecutive seasons.
- 1993 - Sean Burroughs helps Long Beach, CA become the first American team to repeat as Little League World Series champions.
