Talk:Rule 5 Draft
Shouldn't this be "Rule 5 Draft?" --MichaelEng (talk) 10:15, 8 November 2006 (EST)
It's almost always written with roman numerals, for some reason. --Philippe 11:19, 8 November 2006 (EST)
The 1980 Guide says that the drafted player must remain on the major league roster for 90 days into the season. Anyone know when the rule was changed to a full season?--Just me 14:49, 18 January 2007 (EST)
Would there be any interest in yearly Rule V Draft pages? --Jeff 01:32, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
Yeah. That'd be cool. - --Mischa 08:11, 4 May 2012 (EDT)
Not sure when the rule changed from 90 days to the entire season. In the 1982 draft it was 90 days, in the 1987 draft the player had to make the opening day roster at least. --Jeff 15:09, 28 May 2012 (EDT)
I don't know if I will find the rest. 1903 was the first year, so it may not have been reported. 1919 was the first year with no major league draft, and in the mid-teens the NL and AL got very secretive due to the Federal League so 1913-1916 may not have ever been published. --Jeff (talk) 22:40, 21 October 2015 (EDT)
Great job tracking down all the other years! - --Mischa (talk) 08:24, 22 October 2015 (EDT)
We would now need to change all the yearly page titles and the category to make it Rule 5 and not Rule V. Sounds like a job for a bot, if someone knows how to set one up. --Philippe (talk) 18:10, 19 November 2016 (EST)
