Talk:Francisco Lindor
Aren't the high-priced free agents often disappointing as they're usually past their prime - ex. Pujols, A-Rod, etc. - Mischa (talk) 13:45, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
Sometimes when they're older, but Lindor is still just 27; he should be right in his prime, and for a few more years too. Playing for the Mets will turn anyone into a bum, though, it seems. Philippe (talk) 18:47, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
I remember when Bobby Bonilla went from Pgh. to NY; the first big free agent loss for the Bucs after I began following baseball - Mischa (talk) 18:51, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
Players' peak is almost always 26-27 to 28-29. The player procurement system is set up whereby players typically get their first shot at free agency right around 30. So the buying team is paying peak performance prices for past peak performance. Jeff (talk) 00:50, 14 September 2021 (UTC)
