Who held the record prior to Shouse? - --Mischa 11:49, 9 May 2008 (EDT)

George Sherrill, who appeared in 72 games in 2006 without allowing a home run, held the record prior to Shouse. Before him, it was Greg Minton, who appeared in 68 games in 1980 without allowing a homer. Before Minton, it was Dale Murray, who appeared in 63 games in 1975 without allowing a home run. Before Murray, it was Terry Forster, who in 1972 appeared in 62 games without allowing a dinger. Before Forster, it was Rube Vickers way back in 1908, who appeared in 53 games without allowing a home run. Before Vickers, it was George Zettlein, who appeared in 52 games in 1875 without allowing a home run. Before it was Zettlein, it was Cherokee Fisher, who appeared in 19 games in 1872 without allowing a home run. And finally, the initial record was set by Harry Wright in 1871, when he went nine games without allowing a home run.

You know, that's actually kind of an interesting list of guys. --Jeff 22:56, 9 May 2008 (EDT)
