Talk:Bill Craver

From BR Bullpen

I heard that Craver attempted to come back many times after bring banned and was playing for random semipro teams through the 1880s which made me begin to wonder, do you think he would have at least attempted to join the American Association or the Union Association since they were technically unaffiliated from the National League which he was banned from? This is just a question out of curiosity.

The American Association, for one, respected contracts signed by the National League, as well as its blacklist. Same for most minor leagues at the time. The Union Association was only around for one chaotic year, so I'm not sure about that, but it sought to be considered a major league so I doubt it would have ignored such bans. Which is why players who ran afoul of the major leagues often ended up playing semi-pro ball. Philippe (talk) 20:43, 9 November 2023 (UTC)

Sandwich?[edit]

I discovered this bizarre little story about him loving strange foods that included a grilled cheese with peanut butter in the middle when I rented a bunch of books last year. I don't remember which one it could have been even, but tonight I decided to see if I could find anything and came across [this vague little page] which mentions it so I know I wasn't dreaming. I can't really find anything else to back this up though or any other info on it. 𝕮𝖔𝖉𝖞 (talk) 06:27, 24 January 2025 (UTC)
