Biographical Information[edit]
Tae-yeong Jang played for the South Korean national team.
Jang was the top high school southpaw in early South Korea, and his fastball reached 145km/h. He earned the nickname "The Man Who Throws The Sun" with his incredible fastball. He was 32-1 in high school, and that loss was a 11-inning game against another elite high school pitcher, the ace of the first South Korean national team Yang-joong Kim. After graduating from college, Jang played in the Army and for the Ministry of Transport. He also represented South Korea in the 1954 Asian Championship, 1955 Asian Championship and 1959 Asian Championship.
