TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater Township, NJ, is the home of the Somerset Patriots, the New York Yankees' Double-A Eastern League farm team. Of the three teams pulled from the independent leagues into affiliated baseball in MLB's 2021 Minor League Reorganization, the Pats were the last reported in the media but the first officially announced.

Opened as Somerset Ballpark in 1999, it started housing the Pats the season after they began their history as founding members of the indy Atlantic League - a season they played, for want of a ballpark, entirely on the road. The Pats moved into affiliated baseball when the Yankees opted to invite them, instead of the Trenton Thunder, to be their Double-A farm club.

Commerce Bank bought naming rights in 2000, and the name changed again when TD Bank bought Commerce after the 2007 season. The "downtown retro" stadium led the Atlantic circuit in both per-game and total attendance from 2017 through 2019 - outdrawing the affiliated Trenton club's ballpark during those campaigns.

The ballpark had the unusual opportunity of simultaneously hosting three of their parent Yankees on rehab assignments, and all three - Giancarlo Stanton, Josh Donaldson and Tommy Kahnle - played in the May 30, 2023, game. The trio worked out in New York City the next day, and the Yankees reactivated all three of them on June 1st.

TD Bank Ballpark is not to be confused with the similarly named TD Ballpark, in Dunedin, FL.

Bridgewater is a township, not a city, in Somerset County - which owns the park and provides the locale name for the team.

The ballfield was built on the site of a former toxic chemical dump that was cleaned up with help from the EPA Superfund. [1]
