Biographical Information[edit]
Sung-En Tseng played in the CPBL.
Tseng was drafted by the CTBC Brothers in the third round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he spent his first two seasons in the CPBL minor league. He hit .279/.326/.512 in 2021, and he was placed in the minor league for the entire 2022 season (hitting .254/.354/.328). Tseng recorded a .280/.332/.354 batting line in 2023, and he was named the starting left fielder of the Brothers in 2024. On March 31, he crushed a solo shot against Wei-Chung Wang, and he became the first CPBL batter to hit a home run in the Taipei Dome. He was selected into the 2024 CPBL All-Star Game, but he was 0-for-2 in both games. Tseng ended up hitting .304/.343/.441 with 10 homers in 2024 season, ranking 6th in batting (between Hung-Yu Lin and Chi-Hung Hsu), 9th in hits (tied with Yu-Hsien Chu and Li Lin) and 7th in homers (tied with Yu Chang and Chen-Wei Chen). In the 2024 Taiwan Series, Tseng crushed a homer against Chih-Wei Hu in Game 1, then he added another homer against Cheng-Yu Wu in Game 3. He ended up hitting .524/.545/.857 in the entire series, and the Brothers beat the Uni-President Lions in 5 games. He was named the Taiwan Series MVP.
