Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Steven Ramos began his professional career in 2010.

He was taken by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 22nd round of the 2010 amateur draft, a few picks after pitcher Ben Rowen.

Despite showing good speed his first three seasons -- he averaged 15 steals per campaign -- Ramos' initial years were fairly middling. However, he broke out in 2013, hitting .341/.380/.437 with 22 steals in 67 games for the State College Spikes and .327/.366/.417 overall (he struggled in a brief stay with the Peoria Chiefs) to earn New York-Penn League Mid-Season All-Star and MiLB.com Organization All-Star honors. After hitting .118/.211/.328 in five games with the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2014, the Cardinals released him.
