Biographical Information[edit]

Steve Stowell pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Stowell was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 14th round of the 1987 Amateur Draft, and he went 3-2 with a 4.22 ERA for the Elizabethton Twins in his first year. He also pitched 5 games for the Kenosha Twins, but his ERA was 6.51. Stowell then went 3-8 with a 5.00 ERA in Kenosha in 1988, and he was 7-5 with 6 saves in 58 appearances for the Visalia Oaks in 1989. He was 10th in saves (tied with Kevin Campbell) and 4th in games (tied with Basil Meyer) in the California League.

In 1990, Stowell went 1-3 with 6 saves and a 4.89 ERA for the Orlando Sun Rays, and he led the Southern League with 60 appearances (tied with Al Osuna and Maximo Del Rosario). He then improved to a 2.70 ERA in 50 games in 1991, and he went to the Chicago White Sox in 1992. Stowell had a 3.00 ERA in 21 games for the Birmingham Barons, and he also pitched 3 2/3 shutout innings for the Sarasota White Sox. The China Times Eagles signed him in 1993, but Stowell had a 8.76 ERA jn 4 games, and his professional career ended.
