Biographical Information[edit]

The nephew of Jurickson Profar and Juremi Profar, Shavently Profar played in the Hoofdklasse. He made his pro debut in 2014 with DOOR Neptunus in a historic game, when Neptunus became the first Hoofdklasse team to 1,000 wins. Profar entered in the 8th inning of a 12-4 win, taking over in RF and replacing Gianison Boekhoudt in the lineup. He struck out against former minor leaguer Swen Huijer in his first at-bat. He played one game in the 2014 Holland Series, which Neptunus won. After a year in the Dutch minors, he hit only .106/.192/.106 in 32 games for the Hoofddorp Pioniers in 2016, handling 29 chances error-free. He returned to the minors and died suddenly at age 23.
