Serge Makouchetchev

Serge Makouchetchev has been French Umpire Commissioner. He has worked several international events, including the 2002 World University Championship, 2007 European Championship, 2008 European Cup, 2009 European Cup, 2010 European Championship, 2011 European Cup, 2013 European Cup, 2014 European Cup, 2014 European Championship, 2015 European Cup, 2016 CEB Cup, 2016 European Championship, Pool D of the 2017 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, 2017 European Champions Cup, 2018 European Champions Cup, 2019 European Championship, 2019 Europe/Africa Olympic Qualifier, 2021 European Champions Cup, 2021 European Championship, 2022 European Champions Cup and 2023 World Baseball Classic. In the 2010 Euros, he was home plate umpire in the last game of pool play and made a decisive out call for Italy's Simone Albanese at home in what would be a 3-2 loss for Italy to Sweden which sent Sweden to the top-six round instead of Spain. Albanese argued the call, which was during a close play, and was ejected.
