Biographical Information[edit]
Seoung-bin Son has played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korean national team.
Son was selected by the Lotte Giants in the first round of the 2021 KBO draft, and he hit .316/.409/.316 in 20 games in his rookie year.[1] He then missed his entire 2022 season and half of the 2023 season in the Sangmu Phoenix, and he also represented South Korea in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup. Son returned in June, and he hit .263/.282/.342 in 45 games in '23 season. He then represented South Korea in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship but he didn't get a single at-bat in the entire event as Hyung-jun Kim's backup at catcher. South Korea lost to Japan in Gold Medal Game due to Makoto Kadowaki's walk-off single. [2] Son struggled in 2024, and his batting line was .197/.271/.382 in 86 games.
