Seong-uk Kim has played in the Korea Baseball Organization.
Kim was drafted by the NC Dinos in the 3rd round of the 2012 KBO draft, and he stayed in the minors for his first three seasons; he only got 27 at-bats with the big club combined. Kim got the main backup center fielder spot in 2015, and he hit .258/.333/.363 in 125 games. He then crushed 15 homers with a .265/.334/.467 batting line in 2016. As NC's starting center fielder, Kim batted .247/.315/.390 with 10 steals in 2017, and he made it onto Korea's roster for the 2017 Asia Professional Baseball Championship; he was 0-for-5 in the event. Kim then blasted 13 homers with a .260/.320/.433 batting line in 2018, but he slumped to .230/.303/.387 with 9 homers in 2019.
The Changwon native only hit .221/.294/.374 in 2020, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. He returned in 2023, but he struggled again as he only hit .224/.304/.380 with 9 homers. Although Kim didn't fare well at the plate, his elite defense helped him secured his starting spot. He blasted 17 homers in 2024, and his batting line was .204/.291/.380 .
