Biographical Information[edit]

Sen-Hsu Yu played for the Taiwanese national team and in the CPBL.

Yu was 1 for 10 with four whiffs in the 2012 Haarlem Baseball Week, with 4 putouts and one assist. In the 2013 World Port Tournament, he went 2 for 5. He was 0 for 4 with two walks in the 2014 Haarlem Baseball Week. In the 2014 Asian Games, he was 0 for 1 with a walk as a pinch-hitter for the Silver Medalists. He was 4 for 9 with two walks, four runs and two RBI in the 2015 Asian Championship and Taiwan again got the Silver.

The EDA Rhinos selected him in the 4th round of the 2015 CPBL Draft and he hit .274/.318/.363 in 2016. He was 1-for-2 in the 2016 Taiwan Series, and he won his only Taiwan Series title as the Rhinos beat the CTBC Brothers in 6 games. Yu hit .231/.290/.320 in 2017, then his batting line was .275/.330/.335 as a backup infielder in 2018. However, he slumped to .191/.263/.250 in 2019 so he only had 36 appearances in that season. Yu struggled in 2020 as his batting line was .192/.236/.250, and he hit .229/.272/.313 in 2021. The veteran played 57 games with a .250/.311/.295 batting line in 2022, but the Fubon Guardians (the Rhinos had changed their name) wanted to give opportunities to young players, so Yu only had 18 appearances in 2023. The Guardians then released him, and his professional career ended.

Overall, Yu hit .246/.300/.317 with 200 hits in 7 seasons in the CPBL.
