Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Sean West was selected by the Florida Marlins in the 2005 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Ryan Fox for $775,000 and made his pro debut that summer with the GCL Marlins, where he went 2-3 with a 2.35 ERA in 9 games before being promoted to the Jamestown Jammers, where he was 0-2 with a 5.73 ERA in 3 starts. He spent the 2006 season with the Greensboro Grasshoppers, going 8-5 with a 3.74 ERA in 21 outings.

West made his major league debut with the Marlins in 2009.
