Sean West

Biographical Information[edit]

Sean West played college baseball at Palm Beach Atlantic University and San Diego Christian College (SDCC). He graduated from the latter in 2008 with a degree in communications. In 2013 West earned a master's degree in sports management from Liberty University.

After graduation West began a college coaching career at the Division III level. He joined the SDCC coaching staff for the 2009 season and served as the interim head coach in the fall of 2008. West moved to Denison University as an assistant coach for 2010-2013. His next stop was the University of Texas at Dallas where he coached from 2014-2018 and served as their recruiting coordinator. At some time in 2018 West took an assistant coaching job at Emory University. Sources show him at both schools in the spring of 2018, though that seems unlikely. In any case, West did coach at Emory during 2019.

In addition to his college coaching commitments, West has extensive experience with collegiate summer baseball programs.

The Pittsburgh Pirates hired West as a coach for the West Virginia Black Bears in 2020 before the minor league season was cancelled due to COVID-19.

In 2021 West returned to the D3 college ranks as an assistant coach with the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels. He then moved to Providence Christian Academy as "Director of Sports Performance".
