Biographical Information[edit]

The son of Bruce Robinson and the nephew of Dave Robinson, Scott Robinson was selected by the Houston Astros in the seventh round of the 2002 amateur draft and made his pro debut the next summer with the Tri-City Valley Cats, hitting .253 with 23 doubles, 4 home runs and 36 RBI. In 2004, he was with the Lexington Legends and batted .263 with 4 homers and 46 RBIs. He began 2005 back with Lexington and hit .291 there before being promoted to the Salem Avalanche, where he hit .278 with 3 home runs and 40 RBIs. He was back with Salem in 2006 and struggled at the plate, hitting .230 with 3 home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games.

Robinson moved on to the independent leagues in 2007, playing for the Macon Music of the South Coast League. He was named the circuit's Most Outstanding Hitter, hitting .338 with 32 doubles, 11 homers, 67 RBIs, and 11 stolen bases. He returned to organized ball the next summer, playing for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the Seattle Mariners chain.
