Biographical Information[edit]

Tall lefthander Scott Moss was drafted in the 4th round of the 2016 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds, out of the University of Florida. In 2013, coming out of high school, he had been picked in the 38th round by the Colorado Rockies but had not signed.

Moss began his pro career in 2016 with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League, going 3-1, 2.35 in 10 starts. In 2017, he was with the Dayton Dragons in the Midwest League, made 26 starts and went 13-6, 3.45. Moving up to the Daytona Tortugas of the Florida State League in 2018, he had another strong year, with a record of 15-4, 3.68. In 35 starts, he logged 132 innings and struck out 112 opponents. In 2019, he started the season in AA with the Chattanooga Lookouts and was 6-5, 3.44 at the end of July when he was sent to the Cleveland Indians as part of a blockbuster deal on July 30th that landed the Reds P Trevor Bauer.
