Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Scott Jaster played in the minor leagues from 1985 to 1993. He briefly reached Triple-A in 1987 and 1992. He was taken by the New York Mets in the 2nd round of the Regular Phase of the 1985 January Draft, a couple picks after oufielder Alex Cole and a couple picks before pitcher Steve Wapnick.

His breakout season was 1986, when he hit 14 home runs with 87 RBI and 35 stolen bases in 116 games for the Single-A Columbia Mets. He never again reached such numbers, though the next year he had 22 stolen bases between three clubs and in 1989, he had 13 home runs, 60 RBI and 13 swipes between three teams. He joined the Chicago White Sox organization in 1992 and wrapped up his pro career in the Kansas City Royals system in 1993.

Overall, Jaster hit .248/.323/.373 with 68 home runs, 399 RBI and 107 stolen bases in 869 games over nine seasons. He later became a scout for the Arizona Diamondbacks, signing among others J.D. Closser, Andrew Good, Brandon Webb and Dan Uggla.

His father, Larry Jaster, pitched in the major leagues from 1965 to 1972 and his uncle, Daniel Jaster, pitched in the minors from 1964 to 1972.
