Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Scott Eyre is the brother of Willie Eyre. After posting a 7.16 ERA in 19 appearances in 2008 with the Chicago Cubs he was designated for assignment and then traded in a waiver deal to the Philadelphia Phillies for minor league righty Brian Schlitter, who had a 4-3 record with a 2.22 ERA in 34 games for the Clearwater Threshers.
Scott Eyre decided to retire in January of 2010 rather than accept a minor league contract with the Phillies; at the time, he had not ruled out returning to the team if they offered him a spot in the major league bullpen, but it was not the case.

- NL Games Pitched Leader (2005)
