Biographical Information[edit]

Sascha Egas represented the Netherlands in the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup. In the first game, the 16-year-old was 3 for 3 with a run scored and 4 RBI, singling off India's Chittari Chandu Priya her first time up. She later went 4-for-4 with six RBI against Pakistan and finished the Cup at .500/.500/.889 with 13 RBI in 7 games, fielding .889 as a C/2B. She tied for 8th in the event in hits (9), tied for third in doubles (3), tied for the triple lead (2) with Malaika Underwood, Chia-Wen Shen and Lok-Hang Hui, tied Tamara Holmes for the most RBI, tied Megan Baltzell for 3rd in total bases (16), tied Ayumi Terabe and Yuki Kawabata for 4th in average, trailed only Holmes and Underwood in slugging and was 4th in OPS (between Underwood and Terabe). She did not make the All-World team as Tahnee Lovering was picked at catcher and Kawabata at second. [1]

She threw out a ceremonial first pitch alongside Isabelle Markies before Game 5 of the 2016 Holland Series. [2] She also played for the Netherlands in the 2022 European Women's Championship, going 1-for-9 with two walks, a hit-by-pitch, four runs and two RBI, fielding .909 as their main shortstop. She tied for 5th with 5 assists and her two double plays trailed only Amy Trask. [3]
