Biographical Information

Sap Randall was a member of the Chicago White Sox in 1988. He got 4 starts between August 2nd and August 6th, once as a Designated hitter, once in right field, and twice as a first baseman. He did not get a hit in 12 at bats, but did score one run and got one RBI on August 5th against the California Angels. The sacrifice fly came with the White Sox down 3-0 and the bases loaded in the top of the 4th inning. Willie Fraser was the pitcher for the Angels.

Randall actually spent most of his professional baseball career with the California Angels, with whom he signed in 1981. He played in the minors for them for seven years, with a peak in 1986 in the Texas League when he hit .331 with 22 home runs. He was released in mid-1987 although he was slugging .559. The White Sox picked him up and put him at Vancouver in 1988, where he spent most of the year, hitting .274 with 11 home runs.

Randall later served as the head coach at Grambling State University from 2004 to 2006 and Claflin University from 2008 to present (as of 2017).
