Biographical Information[edit]
The brother of George Wright and Harry Wright, Sam Wright was a shortstop who had most of his at-bats for the New Haven Elm Citys who went 7-40 in 1875. He hit .189 on a team that hit .219.
He also played 2 games for the 1876 Boston Red Caps, a team on which his brother Harry played one game and was the manager, while George was the shortstop. It was the first case in major league history of three brothers being teammates, and would not be repeated until the three Alou brothers - Felipe, Matty and Jesus played together on the 1963 San Francisco Giants.
