Sébastien Hervé has played for the French national team.

Hervé hit .188/.250/.188 in the 2001 Baseball World Cup and fielded .931 as the second baseman. He batted .235/.278/.235 in the 2002 World University Championship, making 4 errors in 6 games at shortstop and getting caught stealing in 2 of 3 attempts. He hit .286/.412/.286 for France in the 2003 European Championship; for a player who would be noted for his speed, he was disappointing, going only one for three in steal attempts. He was 0-for-2 in steals in the 2003 Baseball World Cup, hitting .136/.167/.273 and fielding .917 as France's main second sacker. He had their lone triple, off Marcio Sakane of Brazil. In the 2005 European Championship, he led all players with five steals as France's starting shortstop. He hit .172/.273/.172 and fielded .964. He was not caught stealing.

Sébastien hit .357 for Cochise College in 2005 and stole 32 bases in 39 tries. He was 10th in the National Junior College Athletic Association in steals. In 2006, he swiped 47 in 54 tries to finish second in the NJCAA behind Andy Simunic.

Hervé hit .280/.424/.480 in the 2007 European Championship and stole 7 bases in 9 attempts in 8 games. He led in stolen bases, one ahead of future major leaguer Roger Bernadina. In the 2008 European Cup in Regensburg, he batted .308/.471/.462 for the Templiers de Sénart with 4 steals in 6 attempts; he led the tournament in swipes. As the regular shortstop for the Templiers in the regular season, he hit .323/.422/.391 with 27 steals in 32 tries and 51 runs in 47 games. He edged Luc Piquet for the Division Elite lead in runs.
