Biographical Information[edit]
Ryuji Ono has played in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Ono represented Japan in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, going 0 for 1 while backing up Tomohito Yoneno at catcher. His lone at-bat came against Wanjun Zhang of China. The Fukuoka Daiei Hawks drafted him in the fifth round of the 2002 NPB draft. Since the Hawks already had superstar catcher Kenji Johjima, Ono couldn't get many chances. He only played 7 games combined in his 5-year career, then announced his retirement after the 2007 season.
