Biographical Information

Ryosuke Ohtsu has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Ohtsu was drafted by the Softbank Hawks in the second round of the 2022 NPB draft, and he notched 13 holds with a solid 2.43 ERA in 46 appearances in 2023. He pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings in the 2023 PLCS First Stage Game 1, then he relieved Yuki Tsumori in the 10th inning of Game 3. However, he allowed a walk-off single to Hisanori Yasuda, and the Chiba Lotte Marines beat the Hawks. Ohtsu was selected into the 2024 NPB All-Star Game, and he relieved Masaru Fujii in the 4th inning of Game 2. He retired the first three batters he faced, but he then gave up a pair of singles to Domingo Santana and Hideki Nagaoka. Ryuki Watarai then drove in a run with a grounder, and Ohtsu forced Shogo Sakakura to hit another grounder to end his work; Andres Machado relieved him.

Ohtsu's repertoire features a fastball that peaks at 95.1 mph, a forkball, cutter, changeup, curveball and a slider.
