Biographical Information[edit]

Ryan Wright is a man on the move. From 2011-2015 he played college baseball at the University of Utah, Treasure Valley Community College, and Oklahoma City University. He finished his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Boise State University after his playing days ended. In 2019, Wright earned a masters degree in public relations from Montana State University-Billings (MSUB) while coaching there.

Wright started his coaching career in legion ball while still in college. He moved to high school coaching for the 2015-2016 school year at Capital High School in Boise before joining the collegiate coaching ranks in 2016. Wright was the hitting coach at MSUB for the 2017-2019 seasons.

In addition, Wright gained head coaching experience in two summer collegiate leagues. In 2018 he served as the first head coach for the Spearfish Sasquatch in the newly created Expedition League. Wright moved to the Kelowna Falcons of the West Coast League in 2019. This proved to be a challenging season as seven of his players were lost to the MLB draft.

The Toronto Blue Jays hired Wright to be the Lansing Lugnuts hitting coach in 2020 before COVID-19 caused the minor league season to be cancelled. He was hitting coach of the Vancouver Canadians in 2021-2024.
