Biographical Information

Pitcher Ryan Mattheus was selected by the Colorado Rockies in the 19th round of the 2003 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Gary Wilson and made his pro debut the next summer. Mattheus played 6 seasons in their organization, briefly reaching the AAA level. In 2009, he was dealt along with Robinson Fabian to the Washington Nationals for Joe Beimel. He reached the majors with the Nationals in 2011.
