Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Ryan Lentz played in the Montreal Expos system from 1998 to 2000. He was originally drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round of the 1995 amateur draft, one pick after pitcher Robert Ramsay, but opted not to sign. He did sign after being taken by the Expos in the 5th round of the 1998 amateur draft, one pick ahead of pitcher Josh Hancock.

He slashed .254/.374/.342 with 2 home runs, 26 RBI, 41 walks and just 36 strikeouts in 70 games for the Cape Fear Crocs and Vermont Expos in 1998, but slipped to .207/.329/.307 in 114 games for the Jupiter Hammerheads in 1999. He hit .368/.539/.579 in 7 games for Jupiter in 2000 to wrap up his career. Overall, he hit .230/.353/.329 with 8 home runs and 64 RBI in 191 games.

His father, Mike Lentz, played in the minors in the 1970s and his brother, Richie Lentz, played in the minors in the 2000s. Another brother, Andy Lentz, played at the University of Washington.
