Rusty Pendergrass
Biographical Information[edit]
Rusty Pendergrass has been a scout and college coach.
Pendergrass was head coach of Houston Baptist University from 1992-1997. He was a Houston Astros scout from 2000-2011, signing Hunter Pence, Troy Patton, Ruben Alaniz, Matt Albers, Ben Zobrist, Koby Clemens, Ryan Gebhardt and Steve Martin. When Houston let him go, he joined the Arizona Diamondbacks as a scout and signed Stryker Trahan. Pence and Zobrist were both taken by the Astros in the 2004 amateur draft on his recommendation.
