Roy Seltenrijch is a Dutch infielder.
He debuted in the Hoofdklasse at age 16 in 2009; playing for DOOR Neptunus that year, he went 8 for 29 with a triple, 3 runs, 4 RBI and 3 errors, primarily backing up Benjamin Dille at 2B. He did not play in the 2009 Holland Series, won by Neptunus. In the European Junior Championship that year, he hit .389/.500/.444 with 6 runs and 8 RBI in five games for the Netherlands, tying for the tournament RBI lead. He batted .346/.414/.385 in limited action off the Neptunus bench in 2010. He was 0 for 1 in the 2010 Holland Series, as Neptunus claimed another title. In the 2010 World Junior Championship, he hit a meek .133/.257/.133 with 13 strikeouts in 30 at-bats yet somehow managed to score six times in seven games. He played error-free ball at second base. His offensive numbers were even worse than they seemed, as three of his four hits came against the Czech Republic; he was 1 for 25 against the rest of the world. He also participated in the MLB European Academy that year.
Seltenrijch moved to Corendon Kinheim in 2011 and hit .243/.328/.308 as a starter, fielding .965. He began 2012 as a freshman at Georgia State, hitting .258/.360/.323 in 29 games and fielding .894. He was not the lone European on the team, as German pitcher Max Schmitz was also present. Returning to the Netherlands for the end of the season, he batted .250/.308/.350 in 16 games for Kinheim and made no errors in 61 chances. He then excelled in the 2012 Holland Series when Kinheim upset Neptunus to give Seltenrich his third Holland Series title before the age of 20. He went 6 for 14 with a double, walk and four runs in four games, leading the Series in average and tying Quintin de Cuba for the run lead.
