" Buys Release Roy Castleton, former Cracker southpaw, purchased his release from the Salt Lake team and recently signed with Toronto in the International League. Had Billy known that Roy was hunting for a job, the chances are he would have taken him on with the Crackers." - Atlanta Constitution, June 12, 1914, p. 10

Roy Castleton, the first major leaguer born in Utah, pitched in the majors in 1907 and 1909-1910. He pitched eleven times between the New York Highlanders and Cincinnati Reds, recording a 3-4 record and 2.68 ERA. In 1906, he pitched a perfect game for the Youngstown Ohio Works of the Ohio-Pennsylvania League. He was purchased by Clark Griffith for the Highlanders soon after.
