Biographical Information[edit]

Shortstop Ron Warner was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 17th round of the 1991 amateur draft and played nine seasons in their farm system. In 2000, he was the Cardinals' batting practice pitcher. The next year, he began coaching in the minors. He coached the New Haven Ravens in 2001, the New Jersey Cardinals in 2002, and the Swing of the Quad Cities in 2004. Warner managed the Johnson City Cardinals in 2003 and the Palm Beach Cardinals in 2005-2006. Warner became skipper of the Springfield Cardinals in 2007, and was promoted to manager of the Memphis Redbirds prior to the start of the 2012 season.

On June 9, 2017, he was added to the major league staff of the Cardinals as part of a mid-season shuffle of their coaching staff. In mid-year in 2018, he was named bench coach when incumbent Mike Shildt was promoted to interim manager. In 2020, he moved over to third base coach.
