Ron Hopkins

Ron Hopkins was a national cross checker for the Oakland A's for eight seasons and a special assistant to the GM of the A's in 2002. He was then the Texas Rangers' Scouting Director from 2003 to 2009 and spent 2010 as a special assistant to GM Jon Daniels. In 2011 Hopkins was hired by the Baltimore Orioles as a cross-checker.

Hopkins' son, Ross Hopkins, was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 40th round of the 2007 amateur draft but never played professionally. His daughter Amanda Hopkins is a full-time scout for the Seattle Mariners.
