Rolando Gomez has been a minor league infielder.

Gomez was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 11th round of the 2008 amateur draft, two rounds before they picked Michael Kohn. He was signed by scout Demetrius Figgins for $450,000, bypassing his plans to attend the University of Miami. He made his pro debut in 2008, but only played 4 games for the AZL Angels, with more errors (5) than hits (2 in 15 at-bats). He split 2009 between the AZL Angels (.304/.408/.464, 48 R in 45 G, .913 fielding at short) and Cedar Rapids Kernels (2 for 18, 2B, BB). He was second in the Arizona League in runs (one behind Francisco Guzman), 6th in OBP, tied for 8th in doubles (13), was third in walks (32) and tied for 8th with 5 triples.

In 2010, the little shortstop hit .250/.298/.406 for the Orem Owlz, fielding .930 at short while his walk rate fell significantly (to 13 in 55 G). He tied for 5th in the Pioneer League with five triples. He also was 0 for 3 for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. The Floridian spent most of 2011 with the Cedar Rapids Kernels, posting a .261/.307/.388 line with 8 triples (tied for 5th in the Midwest League). He was also 1 for 7 for the Inland Empire 66ers. He fielded .924 at short for the Kernels.
