Biographical Information[edit]

Roe Skidmore is a member of the 1.000 club. He got a base hit in his only career at bat, September 17, 1970 playing for the Chicago Cubs against the St. Louis Cardinals. The pitcher was Jerry Reuss.

While with the Decatur Commodores of the Midwest League in 1968, Skidmore led the circuit in both home runs and in RBI, although not in batting average, in which George Hendrick was the leader.

While with the Indianapolis Indians, the triple A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds, he led the 1972 American Association in RBI with 89.

After his playing days, he went back to Decatur, IL to work.
