Roberto Ederra caught for the Spanish national team.

In the 1999 European Championship, Ederra was 2 for 17 with a double and hit-by-pitch. He had 30 putouts, 5 assists and no errors, with a passed ball and 8 steals allowed in 10 tries, starting ahead of Miguel Mora at catcher. He was named Best Hitter of the 2001 European Cupwinners Cup, playing for Arga Burlada.

He split catching with Mora in the 2001 European Championship and hit much better - 6 for 15, a double, four walks, a hit-by-pitch, five runs and five RBI in five games. He had 12 putouts, 5 assists and no errors while allowing 9 steals in 11 tries. Despite his part-time role, he tied Miguel Erroz for third on Spain in RBI, led in average, was 4th in slugging and was second to David Zabalza in OBP. For the 2001 Euros, he tied René Herlitzius for 9th in average and was 10th in OBP.

Ederra later coached for Beisbol Navarra.
