Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Stock was named by Baseball America as the #2 12-year-old in the country and as the best player at ages 13, 14 and 15. Despite that promise, he would not make the majors until he was 28 years old. Despite being the second-youngest player on the US team in the 2005 World Youth Championship, he struck out 27 in 14 IP, going 1-1 with a 1.29 ERA. In the championship game, he started one one day's rest and shut out Cuba for three innings to match Freddy Asiel Álvarez but gave up 4 in the 4th as the US lost.
